La Fundació Òpera a Catalunya va estrenar dimecres al vespre l’obra amb què, si tot segueix el seu curs i res no es torça, tancarà una temporada d’èxit espaterrant. Amb les entrades esgotades des de fa setmanes a Sabadell, Turandot va arrencar la gira per la Faràndula, on es repetiran funcions divendres i diumenge abans d’aterrar a 9 ciutats més: Tarragona, Barcelona (al Palau de la Música Catalana amb dues funcions), Vic, Manresa, Sant Cugat del Vallès, Granollers, Viladecans, Reus i Girona.
Sembla que ningú s’hagi volgut perdre la commemoració del centenari de la mort del compositor de l’òpera, Giacomo Puccini. Però, realment, és molt més probable que l’èxit es degui al poder de seducció de l’obra i a la seva riquesa tímbrica i harmònica. Fins i tot, al triomf de l’amor.
Sota la direcció musical del mestre Daniel Gil de Tejada, el repartiment és de luxe, encapçalat per Maribel Ortega, Antoni Lliteres, Ivana Ledesma i Tina Gorina, acompanyats de solistes com Jeroboám Tejera, Jordi Casanova, Carles Daza, Jorge Juan Morata, Marc Sala i Cristòfol Romaguera.
Ambientada a la Xina Imperial, la feina del director en escena i vestuari, Carles Ortiz, ens trasllada en una imaginària Ciutat Prohibida. Com és habitual, hi són l’Orquestra Simfònica del Vallès i el Cor Amics de l’Òpera de Sabadell. I en aquesta ocasió, es compta amb les veus blanques de la Coral de l’escola Sant Nicolau, amb preparació a càrrec de la soprano Laura Obradors.
