Barcelona Gospel Messengers va fer reviure èxits que el mític segell discogràfic Motown va popularitzar a partir de la dècada dels 60. El cor va interpretar cançons de Marvin Gaye, Lionel Richie, Stapple Singers, Stevie Wonder, The Tempations, The Commodores, Bill Withers, The Jackson 5, Barry White i, entre altres, Kool & the Gang. Serà dijous, a les 20h, al pati del Casal Pere Quart, en un concert titulat com a Dance! i emmarcat en el XXIII Festival de Música de Sabadell, organitzat per Joventuts Musicals.
Barcelona Gospel Messengers està compost per un cor amb una dotzena de veus. L’acompanyaran Martí Serra, tenor saxo; Ignasi Cussó, guitarra; Isaac Coll, baix elèctric; Andreu Moreno, bateria; i Ramon Escalé, que a banda de la direcció s’encarrega dels teclats.
El XXIII Festival Internacional de Música de Sabadell ja ha sumat tres dels seus espectacles: el concert inaugural de Daniel Ligorio al Teatre Principal, el de La Vella Dixieland i Barcelona Gospel Messengers, al pati del Casal Pere Quart. Aquest dijous, el quart serà ofert per la Coble Mediterrània, també al Casal Pere Quart. Sota la direcció de Bernat Castillejo, la formació oferirà Homenatge a Manuel Oltra, amb la participació de la soprano Marta Valero i de Josep Maria Serracant com a narrador. Una setmana després (3 de juliol, 20h) serà el torn de l’Orquestra d’Acordions de Sabadell que, sota la direcció de Miquel Àngel Maestro, presentarà De Hollywood a Broadway.
